1982    Began training as a film photographer at the University College of Film, Radio, Television and Theatre in Stockholm.

1983    Summer stand-in job as a press photographer and general reporter for Ulricehamns Tidning (1983 –1985)

1986    Obtained his Bachelor of Education (BEd) at Jönköping University. Started as a freelance reporter for Borås Tidning.

1988    Start as a freelance photographer

1990    Photographic work in South Greenland. 

1992    Photographic work in Everglades, Florida, USA.

1994    Full-time professional photographer.

1995    Photographic work in Finland.

1996    First book, Speglingar (Reflections) published. Photographic work in California,Utah, Nevada and Arizona, USA.

1997    Photographic assignments  in Inner Mongolia, China. Photographic work in Ilulissat, Greenland,

1998    Photographic work in Australia, Tasmania and Svalbard.

1999    Photographic work in Namibia, Poland, Canada and Yellowstone, USA.

1999    Assignments for the Fryxell-Langenskiöld Foundation, photographing historic monument.

2006    Began a new documentary project Countryside Sweden (working title). Photographic work in Krakow, Poland.

2006    Publication of the book De gamle och skogen (The Old Man and the Forest) in cooperation with author Örjan Hill.

2006    Began a new photographic project Silent Landscape.

2007    Assignment with author Stefan Edman and Bo Thunberg. Publication of the book Riverside Viskan.

2007    H.M. the King Carl XIV Gustaf, receives the book The Old Man and the Forest as a gift on his 60 th birthday.

2007    Jan Töve and Örjan Hill guided the King Carl XIV Gustaf during a visit in Olofstorp, Fänneslunda.

2008    Photographic assignment for Ulricehamns kommun. Lecture on Wild Photos, Royal Geografic Society, London.

2008    The book Matsmart wins one category in ÅRETS SVENSKA MÅLTIDSLITTERATUR 2008.
